“Five years from now I'll be 20 (wow, such a big age!). I hope I will still be writing my diary. I hope I have visited many places and I still read Assembly. I hope I know more languages. I don't have too many expectations because I know I will change. But I hope that I will be fearless and not pigheaded. And I hope I break some of society's old rules and traditions.”

— Samagya, 15, India

“I would like to be studying international relations at a Mexican university while pursuing my dream of becoming an activist for women’s rights.”

“I hope that I get to help improve the accessibility and quality of education for children in rural and low-income areas. I also hope I can help allocate funds to teachers and families struggling to keep their children in school.”

— Siva, 18, Malaysia

“I hope that I'll be graduating high school and getting my associate degree at the same time. I want to play the cello in a youth orchestra. Then I'll serve a mission for my church.”

— Hayley, 13, U.S.
